Staking Router Module Proposal: Simple DVT

Following the transition of the LNOSG into the Lido Curated Module Committee (CMC), the NOM contributor workstream on behalf of the CMC would like to provide an update regarding one of the super clusters in the SimpleDVT Module where some participants are winding down operations.

Summary
Two participants are winding down operations in the Lido x Obol: Arctic Amarok super cluster:

  • Forbole, a Professional Node Operator that wound down its SimpleDVT operations recently;
  • Cosmostation, also a Professional Node Operator, which is winding down its operations and wishes to withdraw from the module.

Given that the super clusters are expected to continue operations for now, it is proposed that both operators be replaced through an Obol replacement ceremony.

The Obol operator replacement functionality was first introduced with charon v1.9.0 and was covered by an audit, with more details available on the Obol Blog. It was also successfully tested with one of the Lido x Obol Hoodi testnet clusters across two tests (April and May), and is now considered ready for mainnet.
Similarly to the usage of SSV’s reshare functionality, no cluster in SimpleDVT is expected to undergo more than two operator rotations in total: either two operators replaced in a single ceremony, or one operator replaced in each of two separate ceremonies.

Operator changes
As noted above, the super cluster is Lido x Obol: Arctic Amarok, and the replacements are:

  • ContributionDAO, a Community Staker with a very strong track record and engagement in its previous regular clusters, part of the previously approved backup list, and with the ability to run nodes in the APAC region, where the other nodes are located;
  • Syncnode, a Professional Node Operator with almost perfect performance and engagement in its previous regular clusters and the ability to run nodes in the APAC region, as well as active participation and contribution in the community, previously through the LNOSG and currently as a CMC member.

Note. The participants proposed are not part of any other cluster or super cluster at this moment, following the winding down of the regular clusters. Furthermore, as the proposal directly involved Syncnode, they abstained from participating in the committee discussion of this case.

The Easy Tracks recognizing these changes will be shared on the forum in the coming days after the reshare ceremony has been completed. The updated list of clusters is available to view here.
