Hey @Alex_L, signalling here that we have completed the deliverables for this grant. The results for these deliverables have been provided in 3 Lido posts:
- Estimating the Revenue from Independent Sub-Slot Auction Preconfirmations
- Analysing Expected Proposer Revenue from Preconfirmations
- A Pricing Model for Inclusion Preconfirmations
From these articles, we have identified a pricing model for preconfirmations (presented in 3), and identified protocol designs that, with even a small economic demand, are viable for the proposer. Namely inclusion preconfirmations and execution preconfirmations through dependent sub-slot auctions. Conversely, execution preconfirmations through independent sub-slot auctions would require a relatively large economic demand to become economically viable. Full results can be found within the respective articles.
We will continue to work on the open preconfirmation research questions identified in those articles.
