I’m considering operating a neutral relay, but is it actually worth the effort, or how does the community view this? Flashbots has announced TEE-Boost. There are also discussions about Preconfirmation and PROF.
Regarding the direction of the PBS market and relays, I’d like to discuss with the community whether they would welcome new relay operations at this point, or if there are specific items they want to test through relays.
In order to figure out if it’s worth the effort the question you need to ask is what value you think running the relay will bring you and the community.
IMO out of protocol PBS isn’t going anywhere for next 1-2 years at least most likely, and it’s likely relays will be needed even with ePBS and as agents that augment systems for a lot suggested of proposer commitment designs.
That said, there really isn’t that much censorship on the network right now (there’s plenty of non-filtering relays, and non-filtering builders). Running relays is expensive, and it’s hard work. Relays run by large players are being shut down, why do you think a new relay is needed / will help?
