RMC Proposal - Remove deprecated Eden relay, Add Titan relays

The Relay Maintenance Committee reviewed the request from the Titan relay team for inclusion in the “may use” list.

After an extensive vetting and review period, during which the Titan relay has gone from permissioned to permissionless for builders, and monitoring of relay performance, the RMC has reached consensus to suggest to modify the vetted relays list to include the two Titan relays (filtering and non-filtering) The assessment can be found here .

Additionally, in light of the Eden Network announcement that they would be winding down operation of their relay and transfer operation to Gattaca, who operate Titan relay, the RMC is proposing to deprecate (remove) Eden relay from the vetted relays list.

In general while the RMC is aware of the possibility of worsening centralization issues as a result of tighter vertical builder+relay integration, the primary concern of the RMC is to 1) vet relays for technical and operational sufficiency and reliability so that Node Operators may utilize them and 2) monitor whether the credible neutrality of the network (i.e. censorship resistance) is trending towards improvement or worsening. Given that Titan Relay is already being widely used by other participants on the network, the inclusion to the vetted list at this time seems amenable. As such, the suggested course of action is optimistic approval of the addition of the Titan relays, with the community to monitor the consequences on the network. Solutions are already being investigated at a network (Ethereum) level to address concerns of around the current model of PBS, and should a deterioration of the neutrality of the network be observed then the community and the RMC can provide further suggested course of action.

Based on the review performed by the RMC members, no objections were noted to the above-mentioned changes to the vetted list. Following the 7-day public challenge period and lack of any objections, the RMC has effected the proposed changes to the Vetted Relay List.
