I appreciate the statement and sentiment from Clusterform. SSVLM was a very interesting prospect, especially the idea for near fully automated cluster “matchmaking” and maintenance via oracles. I agree that from a strategic perspective, given the embracing of DVT (especially SSV) by the Curated Module operators, the relative ease of use of SSV in CSM (whose share recently rose to 5% and may rise further), as well as the extensibility added in CSMv2 via the gates and extensions system (which would enable an SSV extension to CSM to potentially be done more easily than a brand new module would be), the strategic decision to discontinue the dedicated development of the SSVLM makes sense.
Of course, reduced presence of usage of SSV in Lido in any way shape or form – just the opposite. SSV’s share of Lido validators is ever-growing, and soon more information about how many node operators are using SSV to run validators through Lido will be surfaced not just via the quarterly VaNOM reports but also via the operators.lido.fi UI.
