Motivation

Protocols decentralizing through DAO governance need reliable participants with specialized knowledge in order to scale sustainably. Franklin DAO has an extensive network and access to top resources throughout the crypto industry. We value the position this puts us in to lead and support innovation in DAO governance.

We have followed Lido since its inception. In Compound we have previously supported wstETH as collateral and posted the proposals for listing on Base, Arbirtrum, and Mainnet. In additon we have partnered with Chainlink to develop a hybrid exchange rate oracle to help support wstETH in a more capital efficient manner as well as other LRTs and LSTs.

This is to say, we value Lido’s contribution to liquid staking and DeFi with their products. We are willing to go the extra mile to see their future success. We want to continue these efforts as a delegate, directly contributing to the DAO.

Values and Decision-Making Approach

Decision-Making Process

We take a transparent and communicative approach to collaborating with other delegates, service providers, and proposers to the DAOs we contribute to. By searching deeper than surface level we seek to fundamentally understand proposals, particularly those that stand to have a higher long term impact on a DAO.

Generally:

  1. Read proposal and any replies already present.
  2. Due-diligence period
  3. Write a response summarizing our due-diligence findings and where we stand
  4. Vote accordingly

Core Values

  • Transparency: Committed to ensuring transparency of the protocol, and transparency about our decision-making process. We are committed to acting independently without external influence from third parties. We’re always open to answering questions related to our votes on proposals, so please don’t hesitate to reach out directly.

  • Sustainability: We are committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability and health of the DAOs we participate in and aim to help them steward their native protocols in perpetuity.

  • Inclusivity: Forging the best ideas requires diversity, fairness, and education, and we will strive to encourage these internally and externally.
