1. Identification

Stakin is an institutional-grade non-custodial staking provider operating since 2018, supporting 40+ PoS networks. We operate several thousand Ethereum validators with more than 260,000 ETH staked and secure over $1.5B in staked assets across networks with a community of 50,000+ delegators.

We are fully independent (self-funded), ISO 27001 certified, and trusted by leading institutions, including custodians, liquid staking protocols, VCs, and institutional platforms.

Stakin is also a proud Lido ecosystem partner since 2021 and Ethereum Node Operator for Lido since 2022.

2. Business Case

As a Professional Operator, Stakin brings:

  • Institutional Reach: We serve a broad client base that includes foundations, corporate treasuries, asset managers, custodians, high-net-worth individuals, and venture capital investors. We aim to directly onboard these clients into the stVault framework to help expand adoption. In addition, we plan to extend stVault distribution across platforms already integrated with Stakin, using stVaults as an improved UX layer for onboarding partners and end-users. Where appropriate and subject to client approvals, we may also migrate existing institutional staking clients into stVaults.

  • Enterprise-grade Infrastructure Expertise: With a strong operational track record on Ethereum and a suite of professional-grade services, including ISO 27001 certification, dedicated and whitelabel validator infrastructure, SLA-backed operations, and reporting APIs, Stakin will provide stVaults with robust, scalable, and long-term operational standards.

  • Alignment with Lido DAO’s decentralisation goals: Stakin’s fully independent ownership, geographically distributed infrastructure, diverse client base, early adoption of DVT, and multi-year history participating in Ethereum PoS position us as a strong fit for Lido’s decentralisation and resilience objectives.

3. Ops & Decentralisation

Stakin operates a hybrid, globally distributed infrastructure spanning Tier-3 colocation facilities and leading bare-metal and cloud providers across 4 continents and 8+ countries. Our architecture is fully redundant at every layer and designed to sustain 99%+ uptime across all supported networks.

Key components include:

  • Multi-client Ethereum strategy: Teku, Prysm, Nimbus, Lighthouse for consensus; Geth and Besu for execution.

  • Web3Signer-based remote signing backed by HashiCorp

  • Dedicated, segregated validator machines for institutional clients.

  • DVT-enabled deployments (Obol / SSV) where required by client or decentralisation objectives.

  • 24/7 monitoring and alerting, leveraging Prometheus, Grafana, and multi-channel incident notifications.

  • Continuous testing on Hoodi

As a delegate of the stVaults Committee, I am posting to confirm that the relevant ET motions establishing Stakin’s status as an stVaults Identified Node Operator have now been enacted.

Following the committee’s assessment of Stakin’s application, Stakin has been assigned the Basic Identified Operator Category for stVaults. From an operations and infrastructure perspective, Stakin scored highly; however, the committee has determined that reassessment can take place once sufficient mainnet ETH inflows and vault utilization are observed.
