Metamask wallet connection seems to be confused by the presence of bridged ETH

I’m new here, just trying to stake some ETH. I have a metamask wallet with some ETH, and some ETH bridged to Arbitrum. When I try to connect this wallet and stake with Lido, I only see:

“You are currently on Arbitrum.
Explore Lido Multichain or switch to Ethereum to stake.”

There is no option to “switch to Ethereum”. There is a Ethereum icon in the upper right, but it’s clearly disabled.

I tried sending my ETH to a different account under the same Metamask keys, but that has the same problem. It seems that Lido is stumbling on the bridged ETH, but not the actual ETH. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

you have to switch the network to Ethereum on Metamask extension (in the upper left).

If you have ETH on Arbitrum, you can swap ETH to wstETH via dex. When you hold wstETH, you are getting the staking rewards too. Your wstETH will be worth more ETH over the time.

Thanks for pointing out I needed to switch this in Metamask! I wasn’t aware. That’s all I needed to know.
