Node Operator Admission: Bitwise as stVault Professional Operator

Identification

Attestant (BVI) Limited, trading as Bitwise Onchain Solutions, is a leading institutional staking provider and has provided staking services since 2020. Today, Bitwise Onchain Solutions stakes approximately $5 billion across more than 20 networks and over 100 institutional clients.

Bitwise Onchain Solutions is recognised for its contributions to the Ethereum ecosystem, including the development and maintenance of Vouch and Dirk, alongside other open source libraries used widely by professional node operators.

Business Case

Bitwise serves a sophisticated, institutional client base across a wide product range and is well positioned to offer stVaults to both new and existing clients. Additionally, Bitwise’s wider work in the vault and vault curation space provides a unique opportunity to build strategies integrated with stVaults.

We are seeking a stVault Professional Operator designation in order to pursue development of the following products:

  1. Delegated liquid staking with stETH minting within Reserve Ratio boundaries.

  2. Delegated staking with boosted APR via automated yield-boosting strategies in partnership with market leaders.

Harnessing our existing distribution channels (API integrations, custody partners, and direct client pipelines), our initial goal is to target Tier 1 level commitments within 6 months post-identification.

Ops & Decentralization

We operate a mutli-node validator setup, utilising Vouch, which connects to multiple independent pairs of consensus and execution clients. This provides architectural redundancy in the event of client level failure and significantly reduces correlated failure risk. Vouch also enables the imposition of strategies such as withholding attestation until a predefined quorum is observed across selected clients.

In addition, we operate a remote threshold signer, Dirk. Which uses distributed key generation for the creation and protection of validator keys. Key shards are stored on separate, distributed servers. This provides multiple layers of redundancy and protection against both failure and compromise.

Our infrastructure is run using solely bare metal servers. Currently our Lido validator and remote signer servers are distributed over six countries and four ISO certified providers.

We employ a MEV strategy compliant with the Lido Relay Maintenance Committee, in addition we support local block building and custom min-bid parameters.
