Node Operator Admission: Develp as stVault Professional Operator

1. Identification

Entity:
Develp GmbH
A professional node-operation and staking-infrastructure provider focused on Ethereum.

Website:
https://develp.co/

About Develp:
Develp provides core infrastructure and operational services for staking protocols on Ethereum, with a mission centered on maximizing decentralization, supporting minority-client usage, and strengthening the long-term resilience of the Ethereum network.

Our team combines experience in DevOps, distributed systems, and Ethereum validator operations and experience in Ethereum client development of Nimbus team. Develp actively collaborates with Nimbus as well as other Ethereum client teams by providing real-world insights, infrastructure resources, and continuous feedback loops — particularly for minority clients that benefit from additional production-level testing and adoption.

Motivation to join stVault as a Professional Operator:
Develp seeks to expand its role in the Ethereum staking ecosystem by supporting Lido’s stVault framework with a professional-grade, geographically diverse, and client-diverse validator operation. Our mission aligns closely with Lido’s goals of reducing correlated risks, increasing client diversity, and enabling a decentralized, institutional-ready staking architecture.

2. Business Case

Operator Type Requested

stVault Tier 1 Professional Operator
Specialized in minority client diversity and geographic decentralization

Rationale

As Ethereum grows, correlated risks across client software, geography, and operational setups remain a major systemic threat. Many institutional or large-scale stakers are now seeking configurable, transparent, and decentralization-aligned staking providers.

Develp’s business model directly addresses these needs:

Key Value Proposition

1. Minority Client Adoption & Strengthening the Ecosystem

Develp intentionally runs minority clients (both Consensus Layer and Execution Layer) and contributes operational feedback to their development teams. This improves:

  • Network resilience against client-specific failures
  • Production hardening of minority client implementations
  • A healthier client distribution profile for Ethereum

This aligns strongly with stVaults’ objective to empower operators who reduce correlated risk.

2. Infrastructure as a Service for Staking Protocols

Develp already positions itself as an infrastructure partner for staking protocols, providing:

  • Validator operations
  • Monitoring and reliability automation
  • Client-diversity strategies
  • Support for custom staking configurations

This makes Develp a strong fit for institutions or integrators seeking dedicated staking vaults with high decentralization guarantees.

3. Geographic Expansion of the Validator Set

Our mission explicitly aims to improve global geographic distribution of Ethereum nodes. By onboarding Develp as a professional operator, Lido’s validator set gains added distribution across new regions, reducing dependency on historically overrepresented geographies.

4. Scalable, Professional Operational Capacity

Develp’s infrastructure is designed to scale validator capacity as vault demand grows, while maintaining reliability and client diversity. This ensures that we can:

  • Provision new validators rapidly
  • Support DVT-based and traditional validator setups
  • Adapt to stVault-specific allocations and scaling requirements

3. Ops & Decentralization

3.1 Infrastructure Overview

Develp operates a multi-region, multi-provider infrastructure designed to minimize correlated risk.
We combine:

  • Cloud providers distributed across several jurisdictions
  • Networking and monitoring layers
  • Automated failover and alerting systems

3.2 Client Diversity Strategy

Develp places special emphasis on running minority clients, both for decentralization and ecosystem support. Client selection is deliberately diversified across validators within vaults, and rotation plans can be provided to avoid correlated exposure. This covers less common options such as the Nimbus consensus client and its soon-to-be-stable execution client.

3.3 Key Management & Security

Develp follows industry best practices for validator key security:

  • Remote signing setup (Web3Signer or equivalent)
  • Slashing protection databases with replication
  • Offline or air-gapped key generation options
  • Disaster recovery and backup procedures

3.4 Operational Excellence

Develp maintains 24/7 operational readiness with:

  • Real-time monitoring & alerting
  • Automated anomaly detection
  • On-call rotation with fast incident response
  • Continuous client updates & version management
  • MEV-Boost neutrality with multiple relay providers

We are committed to transparency with the stVault governance group, providing any operational metrics or logs required for risk assessment.

3.5 Contribution to Decentralization

Develp’s core organizational focus directly strengthens Ethereum decentralization:

  • Running and improving minority clients
  • Adding validator footprint in underrepresented geographies
  • Operating with infrastructure provider diversity
  • Supporting alternative client ecosystems through testing and contributions
  • Avoiding over-reliance on large cloud providers

By onboarding Develp, Lido strengthens its validator set along vectors of geography, client diversity, and operator specialization.
