TL;DR of Lido CSM IRL Workshop Proposal in Davao Philippines

The Davao DeFi Community proposes a 4-hour in-person workshop focused on introducing and training participants in the Lido Community Staking Module (CSM). Scheduled for February 08, 2024, in Davao City, Philippines, the event targets 30 attendees from local tech communities.

Objectives:

  1. Educate participants about Lido CSM, emphasizing its role in Ethereum decentralization.
  2. Enable hands-on training for setting up CSM validators.
  3. Promote Lido’s mission of decentralizing Ethereum by onboarding local node operators.
  4. Foster collaboration among tech enthusiasts and blockchain innovators.

Agenda Highlights:

  • Welcome & Introduction: Overview of Lido’s mission and CSM’s significance.
  • Deep Dive: Technical exploration of CSM architecture, bonding mechanisms, and validator setup.
  • Hands-On Session: Step-by-step guide to setting up CSM validators on the testnet.
  • Best Practices: Tips on maximizing rewards and ensuring validator security.
  • Networking Opportunities: Interaction among participants to build local blockchain networks.

Budget:

  • Total estimated cost: $995.50 (includes venue, food, materials, and contingency funds).

Expected Outcomes:

  • Enhanced understanding of Lido CSM among local tech communities.
  • Onboarding of new node operators to Lido’s ecosystem.
  • Strengthened community engagement and collaboration.

Thank you for submitting this community building proposal to grow solo stakers in Davao, Philippines. Appreciate the time taken to put this together.

Do let us sync up with the grants committee once everyone is back on deck this coming Monday.

In the meantime, I am supportive of Rubz (@DDC) as he has been actively learning the ropes of solo staking by participating in the CSM testnet. He also actively guides members in his local DeFi community along their journeys exploring the Lido CSM.

@DDC could you also give us a sense of the profile of the target audience? Will this be the DDC community itself or are you planning to tap into other adjacent local communities for this workshop?

Target Audience on this is Developers Tech Community from DEVCON on our locals, Our DDC Community also, Ethereum Enthusiast and some Local Government unit. We already have initial talks with them so we are on the process of gathering the numbers to attend.
