Rated Labs will be departing from the Lido oracle set, with the transition expected to occur in Q3 2024. Due to the increasing infrastructure and maintenance costs, we are looking to hand over our responsibilities to the appropriate candidate, pending Lido DAO approval, within this timeframe.
MatrixedLink is interested in assuming the responsibilities currently held by Rated Labs within the Lido oracle set. We actively participated in the Lido oracle set testnet during the recent onboarding round. However, due to a DAO decision to onboard fewer operators than those participating in the testing round, we did not secure a position in the mainnet oracle set.
As a seasoned Chainlink Node Operator, our team boasts extensive experience in oracle operations. We manage oracles for Chainlink across more than 8 chains, supporting over 300 price feeds. Additionally, we operate Ethereum validators within the Lido Finance DVT module on the mainnet.
beaconcha.in is interested in replacing the role of Rated in the Lido Oracle Set. We have extensive experience operating oracles for various distributed staking protocols, including Stakewise and Rocket Pool (RPL), on multiple mainnet and testnet chains. Our proven track record demonstrates our capability and reliability in handling complex environments.
As the developer and operator of our open-source beaconcha.in explorer, we are well-versed in the operation of fault-redundant and highly available infrastructure. This expertise enables us to ensure continuous uptime and reliability, critical for oracle performance. We commit to manage the oracle infrastructure in a cost-effective manner without compromising performance or dependability.
Our robust infrastructure supports high availability and fault tolerance, designed to handle the demands of operating an oracle service. We are confident in our ability to deliver a service that meets and exceeds the expectations of the Lido community.

Proposal for Replacing Rated in the Lido Oracle Set
Allnodes is excited to apply for the role currently held by Rated Labs within the Lido Oracle Set. With our extensive experience operating over 40,000 nodes across more than 75 networks, we bring a proven track record and deep expertise in the Web3 community. Our infrastructure is designed to ensure high availability and fault tolerance, making us a reliable choice for handling the demands of an oracle service.
Robust Infrastructure: In addition to utilizing the most popular cloud providers, we operate our own privately owned tier-3 and tier-4 data centers, equipped with custom-designed hardware, to meet project-specific requirements.
Experience and Reliability: Our history of serving hundreds of thousands of users and managing complex environments for many years demonstrates our capability and reliability.
High Availability: Our infrastructure is built to support high availability and fault tolerance, ensuring a reliable and consistent service for the Lido community.
We are fully prepared and equipped to provide a service that meets the expectations of the Lido community. For more information about our services and updates, please visit our website, twitter.
Kukis Global is interested in joining the Oracle Set and replacing the current spot held by Rated Labs. Kukis Global is a member of the curated module within Lido on Ethereum.
We are active in all Lido Simple DVT testnets and have been proposed to join Simple DVT SSV cluster on the mainnet as well. Apart from Lido we have been operating one of the first oracles on Chainlink since 2019.
I would like to point out that the goal of expanding the Oracle Set from 5 to 9 oracles “Expansion of Lido's Ethereum Oracle set” was to add independent 3rd party oracles to the existing 5 oracles, which also acted as node operators.
Rated Labs joined the oracle set in that round, so I would like the new oracle to also be 3rd party and not act as a node operator for the Lido protocol.
H2O Nodes would like to express interest in running oracle infrastructure for Lido. We currently run Ethereum nodes with high performance and reliability within Stakewise, NodeSet, Lido SimpleDVT, and on Holesky testnet. We are also running on the testnet of the upcoming Supra Oracles network.
In addition to our experience with bare metal infrastructure and Ethereum node operation, we are committed to improving the decentralization and diversity of node operator sets via:
→ running infra on bare metal only, never cloud
→ running out of minority data centers
(either on our own hardware in our “home” data center, or via partnerships with bare metal providers to gain access to bare metal in geographically underrepresented countries, for example in South America)
→ running minority clients and DVT software (when relevant)
We would be honored to participate in such an important piece of Lido infrastructure and thank the Lido DAO for your consideration. More information is available at www.h2o-nodes.com or upon request.
DSRV is keenly interested in taking over the role currently held by Rated in the Lido oracle set. As a seasoned validator team with proven success across over 40 protocols, including serving as a curated Lido operator since 2021, we have significant experience in this area.
Our extensive background includes operating oracles on both mainnet and testnet, such as Chainlink for Agoric and Ethereum, Stakewise, Ether.fi, and SupraOracle. Our infrastructure is designed for high availability and fault tolerance, ensuring the continuous uptime and reliability crucial for outstanding oracle performance. Our track record of delivering reliable oracle services over many years underscores our capability.
We are very interested in participating in the Oracle set in the future and would be honored to contribute should the opportunity arise.
Node3Tech is a leader in decentralized infrastructure, with a proven track record in blockchain projects, including significant contributions to Lido’s DVT projects like Obol and Supercluster. Our team excels in blockchain and oracle operations, managing Ethereum validators within the Lido Finance DVT module and oracles across multiple networks. We operate a robust, fault-tolerant infrastructure designed for high availability and efficiency.
We are ready to take over the responsibilities of Rated Labs in the Lido Oracle Set. Our transition plan includes assessing Rated Labs’ operations, gradually assuming responsibilities, and optimizing processes for seamless service continuity. Committed to close collaboration with Lido DAO, we will provide regular updates, transparent reporting, and active participation in DAO discussions. With our experience and infrastructure, we are confident in delivering reliable and high-performance oracle services for the Lido community.
Thank you for the applications! At the current setup, the rotation — if DAO decides to go this route — sounds like a swiftest path forwards. Given that MatrixedLink team has already went through the Oracle testnet run, we’re propose to rotate the Rated Labs for MatrixedLink team in this particular instance.
Would also mention that there’s another project around making Lido on Ethereum Oracle more resilient “Second Opinion Oracle”: Snapshot
While there’s no immediate actions re:Second Opinion required from the current Oracle members, I wanted to highlight that making sure Oracle works “well enough now and even better tomorrow” is a long-standing goal Lido Contributors are chasing. I’m very grateful to the community ready to volunteer work and resources to help Lido DAO Community in that regard!
I’d want to add some color on why the proposed options for the DAO are only «rotation for MatrixedLink» or «to go on with 8 oracles» instead of full election of the submitted options.
Previous Performance: MatrixedLink participated and performed very well in the previous onboarding round of the oracles and were not selected because they were part of an “expanded” set of six oracles, and the DAO’s decision was to onboard only four oracles.
DAO Voting Rules: Regarding allowing the DAO to choose from several candidates, unfortunately, the quorum rules in the DAO require 50 million votes on one of the options. The votings usually gather a little more than 50. If these votes are divided, there will be no quorum. Yes, there could be different rules just for this snapshot, but firstly, it’s kind of a loophole to change quorum rules from vote to vote; secondly, it’s unclear how to formulate this rule: what margin for the winning option would be justified? Simple majority? Then the oracle with a margin of just 1 wei would win, which is not a good result. Creating some gap for a margin – but what gap would be reasonable?
Time: There is not enough time for a full election round due to the need to remove Rated as fast as it’s possible and considering that the oracle set will eventually be replaced with a more resilient “Second Opinion Oracle,” it seems that the efforts for a large election procedure to select one oracle from several would be unnecessary.
Regarding sDVT participation: in my opinion, participation in Simple DVT and CSM is not a blocker. The reputational risks of “being a Lido oracle and fail” far outweigh the benefits for the operator of DVT and CSM from a malicious report(s).
And of course, I am truly grateful for such a significant response from those who are genuinely committed to making the protocol more resilient. Your engagement and dedication to this cause mean a lot, and it inspires to strive for improvement.
We are excited to introduce our guide on how to verify on-chain voting #177 items! This note is designed to help you navigate the process with ease. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
