Piconbello is a Blockchain Research and Software Engineering company engaged in various aspects of the web3 ecosystem, including infrastructure & product development, hardware and application layer protocol development. We offer infrastructure and product support to partners across the blockchain, guiding them through all stages of the research, development process and funding.
Business Case
Request: Become Identified as a Tier 1 basic stVault Operator within a DVT cluster category to expand Lido stVault with DVT.
ETH Acquisition & Scale
We have access to certain markets where stakes are much more conservative. While we advise them on infra and solution scale, most of them stay internal. We believe that with Lido’s stake liquidity it will bring a lot of benefit for them to consider utilizing stVaults, and we will bring them more competitive pricing considering onboarding for them to Lido over here is not sensible. Depending on commitment from these parties we like to help them apply to Lido or get services over Piconbello. We currently run validators on Ethereum, Aztec, and Starknet networks with established infrastructure ready to scale based on stVault demand.
Timeline
Ready to onboard immediately. Existing infrastructure and operational processes allow instant scaling.
Why Piconbello
Protocol Expertise: We constantly run multiple clients across testnets and have a slow rollup policy for updates to avoid bugs and issues related to validator performances. In addition to that* our research focused approach and focus on DVT since its inception and collaborating with both teams help us optimize our performance across all stacks. Which translates directly to validator operations excellence.
Performance & Research:
Decentralization Alignment: We fully support 3 execution and 4 consensus clients. We also have initiatives for geographic distribution while for Ethereum, unfortunately, the number never makes sense financially.
Layer Contribution
We are working to optimize the networking layer bottlenecks for validators with few organizations. Currently a significant portion of the missed tasks for validators is about the networking layer that is significantly prominent for DVT and MEV combination.
Ops & Decentralisation
Infrastructure: Multi cloud. Cloud VMs, Our own datacenter in the UK and bare metal servers, distributed across multiple geographic regions and jurisdictions.
Client Diversity: Currently operating 3 execution clients and 4 consensus clients in production. We have hands on experience with all available EL/CL clients and established processes to rapidly deploy any combination. While our first client choice is always dependent on our performance metrics which follow up with a backup one.
DVT Experience: Production deployments with both Obol (Charon) and SSV Network architectures since their early stages.
Validator Architecture: Experience operating all validator clients available including Web3Signer, Vouch + Dirk for distributed remote signing. Resilient remote slashing protection always enabled. Key management handled through secure air gapped ceremonies.
Performance: Our SSV supercluster ranks in the top 3 for all time metrics, and we have consistently been rated in the top 10 across operators. While SSV improvements recently allowed many operators to reach the 99.99 to 100 range, we were always higher than average even when that was not the norm. We echo the same consistency for correctness according to the rated network. This is specifically because of our full stack performance approach. We continuously experiment with multiple client configurations and options to find the most optimal configuration for our deployment and hardware.
Monitoring: We utilize Prometheus, Victoria Metrics, Grafana, Vector, Loki and IRM tools for incident response and resolution.
MEV: Currently we support all MEV relays.
